I'm comparing Don McClean's "American Pie" with Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire." I would think both of them are representations of American history and culture and that WDSTF is the "American Pie" of the late 80s-early90s (not sure when the song was released).

Anyone agree with me and/or care to provide some insightful commentary? Both songs have a great deal of symbolism; AP has more symbolism and WDSTF has more history to it.

When George got fired and it was going to be 'the Summer of George' and he was going to play Frolf (frisbee golf) but he never got into the summer of George, instead he 'decompressed' (or as Jerry made funny of- 'decomposed'.

Or when Jerry hired the assistant to help him with his comedy business arangements but she turned into a psycho and wouldn't make any arrangements. When he finally asked her to just make some decisions she got lost on the road and ended up putting the car in a swimming pool and Jerry was "freaking out".

More innocent people have died in Lebanon then Israel. But our Media shows the struggle of the Israeli people because they can't go to the supermarket and buy milk because they are scared of a rocket. HOW about Lebanon where they have no supermarket, hospital, or home because Israel blew it all up.
