Roman Polanski raped a 13 year old and Mel Gibson made derragatory remarks about Jews while drunk. Polanski's film The Pianist is heralded as a great film and hugely supported by his peers, but Gibson is being boycotted by Hollywood for one drunken night. When Robert Downey Jr repeatedly abuses drugs, it's considered cute. He's so charming! What's with all the double standards?

I'm sorry, I didn't realize STATUTORY RAPE (preceded by drugging) of a 13 year old was okay. By support I mean by Hollywood peers. He was released on bail to work on a film and never returned. He's allowed back in- he's a fugitive.

They want to take revenge of Gibson because he made them get mad with his film The Passion of the Christ. I think what Roman Polanski did was much worse that what Gibson did. Gibson deserves to be forgiven.

Statutory rape, slight difference, plus he's not allowed in the country, that doesn't sound supportive to me. And I'm sure that there are people who will not support Roman Polanski.

personally the whole Roman Polanski thing is related to Charles Manson everybody feels sorry for the guy that found his pregnant wife and all of her friends slaughtered like pigs... i know that would **** me up, look at Macbeth or whatever Shakespeare play he directed.

support is relative, it's the responsibility part that i have a tough time understanding.
