I want to use the following in a sentence, but I'm not sure which is grammatically correct. These are events that occurred in the past:

"What pain must he have endured..."

or
"What pain must have he endured...:

or ????

Also,

"What pain must his mother have endured..."

or

"What pain must have his mother endured..."

also, does anyone know what this particular past tense is known as? I know it might sound awkward but it fits in the essay. Thanks!

1) The trees over our heads made noises in the wind.
2) The wind blew the branches of the oak trees, which we could actually hear as a kind of groaning sound.
