Words & Wordplay - December 2006

[Selected]: All categories Education & Reference Words & Wordplay

I'm playing a word game on another web site. We are taking the last TWO (2) letters of the previously given one.
Example:
Good

second response might be
oddity

I'm looking for a web site that has a list of words in the dictionary as a list like a book form of a dictionary. Then I could look down the list until I found one. I like to come up with words not previously used in the game. That has become a challenge.

Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

There are only two uses for the apostrophe. One is possession and the other is contraction. So why do people write : video's DVD's, television's etc etc etc.
Acronyms such as CDs and DVDs, DO NOT NEED APOSTROPHES! Just because you add an S doesn't mean you need one.

Basically, if it's with the S-H sound without the K sound of the letter 'C', then you wouldn't say the word "school" in the same way. Would sound silly
