Homograph. A homonym is a word that sounds the same as another word. Edit - This turned out to be more fun than I expected. If anyone can show me two words that have the same spelling, the same sound, but different meanings, then in THAT case, I will concede that homograph and homonym are synonomous, and in light of that phenomenon the word heteronym serves a purpose. According to Webster, homograph was coined in 1873. Heteronym was coined in 1889, and even if heteronym were not a redundancy, I claim (on behalf of prior answerers) the prize for homograph on grounds of seniority.
