I was taught that y is a vowel sometimes.But many people say it's not.Are they right or are the people that taught me were right?

I know a couple.Even though y is'nt a vowel.Sometimes it is counted as one.that was what they taught me.But i know mm, hm, sh, psst, crwth don't and crwths.Are there anymore You can think of.the person with the most thought that i have'nt put gets the best awnser picked.

Some say "...a myriad of..." and others say... "myriad" only ...as in myriad choices make the selection much harder. I think the second is correct but most everyone I hear use it say "a myriad". Today it was Hilary Clinton on the national news. I say she's wrong.
