i livd in usa and was in 9th grade high school, but i movd 2 pakistan and now i am finishing my o level and moving back 2 usa. Will i still be accepted in my old high school and will i be in the same grade has my peers are there.

How fluent can a person expect to be if they devote the summer to learning Spanish in the countries that speak it? I've applied for an internship in Spain and am looking for a total immersion language school in another spanish speaking country. My summer break extends from the end of May to the end of September and I have had 2 years previous language training in Spanish, but it's weak at best as I don't know how many people are going to quiz me on the numbers up to 100 or the random parts of the body.

when you explain about something,,,,for example,you explain about an island near somewhere which is the only island around there. you know it is the only island but the person you are explaining to doesnt know what it is,and doesnt even know it is an island..... in this case how do you say?

like,,,(isalnd name) is an island close to,,,(in/around/near)?

or you use the article THE? if it is the only island? or an? cuz this is the first time you talk about the island and the person doent know about it?

my question may be hard to understand but hope you do

Could anyone please give me a list of good books I could read on every day life in Africa? It doesn't really matter what region, I'd like to look at what it's like in different parts of the country and how it compares, things like that. Thanks for your help!
