For my english class we are supposed to right a short "symbolic object poem".
Please be honest and tell me what you think about it, okay?

"The little stuffed animal
may seem like a toy.
But to its owner
Shes a token of love."

Please give me your honest opinions and also suggestions, etc.

Charles Frazier seems to imply that, because of the moral barrenness of the Civil War and the crimes committed on the battlefield in the name of honor, there is no moral onus attached to the act of desertion? Do you agree with him? Why has Frazier chosen to portray the deserters as good, the Home Guard as evil?

What can I do to prepare my self for college. I just joined the military, I'll be active for 2 years. Those years I plan to work on problems in my english and math textbook, then I will proceed to take college level courses. At the moment I have a "B" in my english and math class. Which is a good sign of my progress. But it's too quick, I forget the information too easily. Friends who are in high never forget what they've learned. I want to achieve that. I want to get the education. Not just to move on to a college level course. Currently I am building on what the teacher taught me.

I am enrolled in remedial classes. I am taking a middle school course in english and math at college . These courses are design to build on information I already know, which I don't have.

I am investigating the social practices surrounding Valentine’s Day and analyzing them in terms of the theories of Mauss' "The Gift." Anthropologists believe that gifts are a means of expressing and producing social relationships, but the dynamics of gift giving are never straightforward…indeed, many question whether a ‘pure’ uncalculated gift is even possible. And yet, in American culture, we believe that love is a sentiment that produces true expressions of generosity. My job is to explore how rituals, gift-giving, and consumer behavior surrounding Valentine’s Day structure romantic relationships and to what extent Mauss’ theory of reciprocity applies to gifts that are meant to express affection.
I am looking for people to interview about their experiences, gifts and other favors exchanged. So...please tell me about your Valentine's Day this year! How was it? What gifts were given and recieved? Anything else significant?
Thank you in advance for all of your help!!

2. In baseball, a player's batting average is the ratio of hits to the number of times he or she has batted. Thus, if the player has an average of.300, it means he or she got 300 hits in 1000 bats. In order to have an average of .300, how many hits would the batter have to get in 400 times at bat? Show how you checked your answer, please.

so far i have 300/1000 = x/400, do i just cross multiply? what do i let x equal?
