The question says "Each graph has an equation of the form y=ax^2. Find a.

The picture is of a graph of a parabola, and the point (2,8) is labeled. It's just labeled as (2,8), I mean.

I have no idea how to find a... Can someone help?

if any of you know what national history day is, then you also know that it is hell to participate in. unfortunately it is mandatory and worth a 200 point grade. the theme this year is triumph and tragedy. i chose the theme of pompeii and the eruption of vesuvius. tragedy because of the eruption and triuph because of the rediscovery in the 1700s. anyway, the point of history day is to reflect on your topic. so i want to know how the eruption of pompeii may have effected common studies of natural disasters today. i want to know how it effected how we study and understand natural disasters. if anyone has a website that relates to the effect pompeii had on today's weather studies please please please give it to me. i am desperate. also please give me a direct website and not just an answer because, i need to put the source where i found it, and i dont think yahoo answers counts.
