what i usually do when im nervous, like when i had to recite a soliloquy from romeo and juliet, i usually would practice a little, then go do something else for a while, and practice in the morning before you go to school. while your up there, just have fun! a lot of the other people are probably nervous too. usually if you have confidence, you'll do fine, and your prolly much better than you think. i usually do that too. hope that helps! get lots of rest. :)
i also heard chewing mint gum helps you think better. it seems to work for my tests!

Be prepared, know you are prepared, and realize that the opponent is probably just as stressed and nervous as you. Once you get started it will all fall into place and you'll calm down. Good luck!

write out notes on your speech and yeah eat some turkey leftovers from thanksgiving lol! turkey has triptafan in it which calms you. look at the wall just above the audiences heads, but move it every now and then so that you seem to be making eye contact with the audience.
