Energy is produced when an earthquake occurs. This energy is released in the form of seismic waves. These waves travel throughout the entire Earth. Waves transmit energy between different points. There are many kinds of waves, seismic waves are a type of physical wave.

Sure they do! They transmit energy by the way of waves, seismic waves. To create a wave in the first place, energy is needed, may it be light (lightwaves), sound (soundwaves), ripples in the water (water waves), or just the waving of a jumprope. Seismic waves are mechanical waves and energy is needed to produce them therefore seismic waves contain energy and if somebody wants to stop them (like a wall or a fortress so that it won't fall in an earthquake), that energy needs to be absorbed.

As for the pictures, just google for it.
