Education & Reference - 28 November 2006

I need anyone's input on this. My 16 yr old daughter goes to a charter school here in Florida on a McKay Scholarship. The principal of her school kicked her out last week and told her to come back at the first of the year because she won't get credit for this semester due to absenses. Now my daughters last report card boosted 5 A's and 1 B and she is at this school due to a learning disability. Now I want to know if this is legal ? I'm pretty sure that in the State of Florida a child has to be enrolled full-time till a certain age or graduation.

Tomorrow I am going to try and enroll her in public school because it just doesn't seem right that she is not continuing her education due to the fact that school is trying to sqeeze more money out of her scholarship. Please send any advice you can.

I do all my work and do all my homework i take this class very serious. But i seem 2 get a 75 in the class and i feel like i should get more. How should i make that happen.

Well I take it on Saturday, and I'm just worried about it. I have never took classes for it, or studied for it really. Most of my friends say they have had classes to tutor them for it. I had a 3.7-3.8 GPA from what my counselor told me last time, but the problem is that I'm horrible at taking test. When it comes to something like this I just do horrible I don't know why! I took the PSAT's twice (practice ones) and I ain't do so hot. So I have a few questions. Is it to late to study, will five says studying do much? Any test taking techniques for the exam (besides good rest and breakfast) more like guessing tips narrowing answers down, or if I don't know the answer should I leave it blank. If studying isn't to late, where should I study or what should I study. Any good links? I have great grades i just got Straight A's with the exception of two B+'s and two of my classes are AP (Advanced Placement) courses. Any helpful feed back would be very appreciated! Thanks

I already know it's faster. I'm going to list some things and you just add to the list

*faster
*in the summer you can use AC
*in the winter you can turn the heat on
*you don't have to carry an MP3 player or CD player around
*carpooling
*you use your muscles less
*you can take time to relax
*protection from other vehicles
*expands your list of possible destinations
*you can carry more groceries


Alright, there's my list. Without restating what's above can you give me some more reasons?

Ok so for my english class we were learning about mythology and we''re making a class magazine..My assignment was to make a Ad about "Midas" from greek mythology. In myths, he got a power to turn whatever he touched into gold. I made the ad except I have one problem. What should i name this "imaginary" drink? I have a 3.51 gpa so far 1st quarter soph year
last year 3.21
these are unweighted
i took honors math and science last year, norm everything else
this year AP bio, honors math, honors english, history, latin, french

other than gpa, i have good extraciriculars, and i took the psats a year early, and still havnt gotten back results.
i know there isnt a lot of info, and college is in a while, but what kind of range am i looking for?
could i ever get into brown/dartmouth.... vasser... tufts... or lower?

Hey guys, I'm a junior in high school this year.
I just came here for about a year,
and I'm still in ESOL( English for Speakers of Other Languages) program.
I've already taken the ACT and SAT once,
Here's my scores:
ACT:
English - 13
Math - 30
Reading - 19
Science - 23
(I didn't take the writing part, and my composite score is 21.25)
SAT
English - 300
Math - 630
Writing - 330

Obviously, my Math is much better than my English.
I have already asked my counselor; does college accept this kind of scores?
I mean where I want to go is not a community college,
I want to go to an University( I wanna go to University of West Florida)
Her answer was "yes", they accept the students like me.
my friend, she got a composite score 23 on ACT,
and she told me that I have to have at least 18 on each subject..(ACT)
And what she said is totally different from what my counselor has told me..
Could you all please help me to figure out this problem ...?

Moving to LA for studying in Film school as Sound Designer...

I got a 1910 on the november SAT (with a 700 in math). Is that good enough for the ivy league schools? And how much of that score do the colleges actually look at?

Also, what's the average score range for colleges that are "just under" ivy?

I went to highschool in the late 70's, early 80's. Was it common back then for gym teachers/coach's to spank guys for misbehaviour, poor performance etc? I got paddled after practice a few times with some other guys. Did anyone who was in highschool back then experience anything similar?

Ok yeah yeah I know since I am 19 I should be able do grammer pretty well since I am in college.

Anyways, I am writing a paper for my writing 122 class and I feel like I am doing some comma happy things... here let me write the sentence with my grammer on it and tell me if its wrong or not which I am pretty sure they are wrong.
