I went to highschool in the late 70's, early 80's. Was it common back then for gym teachers/coach's to spank guys for misbehaviour, poor performance etc? I got paddled after practice a few times with some other guys. Did anyone who was in highschool back then experience anything similar?

Oh my god, This is not sexual harrasement or abuse its called corporal punishment and its been used for years down in the south and in texas wear I live. It is fading out some but just 6 years ago when I was in highschool it was still used ALOT at my particular school if you were in the athletics program. It didn't matter wether you were a boy or girl you still got licks. I only happened once to me when my grades slipped enough that if I didn't pull them up I'd be ineligible to play. Did I feel abused??? Hell no it worked and I got my grades up.

I don't know whether you are serious or not, but I read your previous question where you said you where spanked over your "jock strap" in high school. If that is true then, that was not punishment, it was sexual molestation. Nobody gets "paddled" in high school, not even back in the 70's. I would talk to a lawyer and the other people you know of who were "spanked". If this gym instructor is still teaching he could still be molesting kids and needs to be stopped. I hope this isn't a joke because molestation is NOT funny.

In the 70's & 80's paddling (corporal punishment) was allowed at the elementary and jr. high schools that I attended (not sure if parental permission was required). I cannot recall this in high school.

I went to grade school in the 70s there was a 5th grade teacher that would bend them over their desk and spank.(mostly one problem kid)
and in 6th there was a man teacher who use to make them hold out their hand and smack them with a rubber band.
no big deal at the time.

paddled?Ugh!That must have been terrible. No spanking here. They don't even allow that anymore or you could get sued.
