I got a 1910 on the november SAT (with a 700 in math). Is that good enough for the ivy league schools? And how much of that score do the colleges actually look at?

Also, what's the average score range for colleges that are "just under" ivy?

A 700 in math is very, very impressive. However, a 1910 is not the kind of score that will make you stand out. You could be accepted if your GPA, Extras, essays, and letters of rec are impressive, but you should definitely retake the SAT if you have time. Your SAT scores, combined with the GPA, are the first "filter" most committees use, and a higher score will be of tremendous help. Consider getting some help from a book or a class, if you have time. Also, since Math seems to be your best subject, consider taking the ACT. Many math-savy students do better on the ACT, and the schools have no preference. You can check out a free sample ACT at your local Kaplan center to see how you'd do.

regardless, you should re-test to increase your chances.
good luck!

There are many people that have got in with an SAT score under 2000, since the new limit has been raised to 2400... Most ivy schools back in the day wanted 1400+ when the 1600 limit was in affect. Since your pretty close to 2000, I'd say it wouldn't be impossible, but try to have a good essay, gpa, and other crudentials that would help you get in. Also, they look at all your scores. Most people that doesn't have the best scores rely on their parents to persuade the college to get in...

Honestly, that's not quite Ivy-grade. I think Ivy-grade is 2100 and above (average 700 per section). The notch below Ivy goes from 2000-2100. And "highly selective" schools range from 1800-2100.

But I would suggest repeatedly taking it, because your score *will* improve. Unless you're a senior, in which case, just apply to the colleges and sit back for the results :-)

Go here: http://63.135.109.195/hernandez/ai_calculator.cfm

Enter your SAT scores and GPA and it will calculate your chances of getting into an ivy league school.

Since "just under" Ivy is not very clearly defined, I suggest that you look up the individual schools at www.collegeboard.com

I hope I helped!

Those are probably pretty good, you may want to retake because it's possible to get a better score, i did...You may want to look into other schools, there are plenty of good schools out there where there is not nearly as much pressure put on you...Ex. Pitt, NYU, Miami OH

a 1910 on the SAT is impossible as far as I know. Colleges do look at your SAT scores and grades.
