hello! :)

in my own words, a dictionary gives you the meanings of all the words in our English language while a thesaurus gives you the synonyms (similar meanings but different words) of words.

here are examples:

for a dictionary: confused--1.Being unable to think with clarity or act with understanding and intelligence. 2.Lacking logical order or sense: a confused set of instructions. 3.Chaotic; jumbled: a confused mass of papers on the floor.

for a thesaurus: confused--Synonyms: abashed, addled, baffled, ball up, befuddled, bewildered, dazed, disconcerted, disorganized, distracted, flummoxed, flustered, misled, mixed up, muddle, nonplussed, perplexed, perturbed, puzzled, stumped, taken aback, upset

clarified? hope it helped... :)
