I've been selling things on eaby for quite some time and the fees are really cutting into my profits. I have quite a few returning customers so was thinking of creating a website they could go to instead to buy my items.

I haven't a clue where to start though. I have another website I'm working on but it doesn't sell anything. It cost me £150 and gave templates and advice so I wouldn't have to use html. I'd like to go for something cheaper (preferably free!) with my new site though. Does anyone know any good services which don't require html knowledge?

Also, is it hard to create credit card payment options? And are there charges involved?

It would be great if someone could offer me some advice. Thanks

I have a .com address with 1&1 webhosting.
I am using Dreamweaver to build my site.
Everything is working so far, but I have one issue. It may be simple to resolve, but I don't know what to do.
Right now, when you go to mysite.com, an error page comes up, but when you go to mysite.com/index.html, my home page pops up.
I want to make it so that you don't have to type in index.html to get to my home page.
I want mysite.com to redirect to mysite.com/index.html without the visitor typing the whole thing in.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance!

As in having the linking word to other text or page color coded only without the "underline?" If so, what is the linking code? Thanks.

I'm trying to let a user specify a comma-separated list of urls to my php function, but commas are a valid url character. How do I delimit the different chunks of urls? Are there any characters that are invalid that I could use instead like > or {?

The key is the character (or set of characters) must be something that you'd never see in an actual url.

What is "web 2.0" or where are the specs? Is is just by applying and using AJAX?
I read many comments saying that "tables" are "old fashion". What is to replace them? "Div" ?
I develop a lot with AJAX, Divs and tables, but I believe that a table, using % instead of width, are better for any screen resolution.
Advices ? Comments ?

Since we are now in Web 2.0
is the "Summary" attribute of 'HTML' table as in the example below,

now deprecated ?

I have read that Tables should be avoided and one should use CSS instead.

I just clicked on a link on a site and a new browser window opened at only about 60 percent the size of the original window. I could probably use something like this at some point and I'm curious to know how to do this. I browsed the source code and it looks like what I'm looking for would be in a separate CSS file. Is there an easy way to do this using javascript or is it recommended that a separate style sheet be used?

Here's the link where I noticed this. Just click on any of the staff bio links:

Anyone know the answer? 10 points to the answerer with the best explanation.

I would imagine a quantum computer would be able to support
(if not fundamentally based on) the a complex number base as
opposed to the binary system.

My Question is how would you represent a number in a complex number system?

(I would imagine that you would make use of DeMovire's Formula)
Could someone provide an example by showing a decimal
number represented in base 3+2i (where i is the square root of negative one)
I would also have trouble using digits with an immaginary number system.
I would guess that if you had a base 2i the digits would be 0 and i.

Anyway the main question is this:

My Question is how would you represent a number using
a system based on the powers of a complex number?

Hi,

I am making a web site and want to include a section where I review movies. My server does not have any database functions.

I want to know if it's possible to have a page with a dropdown menu (with film titles to choose) and then display my review in a space below the menu.

If it is possible can it be done without having seperate.htm pages for each review, maybe it's possible to read text from a file that is formatted in a certain way, this way I would only have one file to upload each time I do a review.

If someone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
John-Paul
