resume is your one page summary of your career.
profile is a more personal document.
life style, married, children, civic participation

A profile describes current skillset. A resume describes the past, and how one acquired the current skillset.

Your profile contains all of the information that is on your resume as well as your job preferences (e.g., geographic locations), your login information, and your equal employment opportunity information (optional).
