My Mom lives in Toronto, Canada, but stays in Florida for 4 months every winter (typical retired snowbid), in an inexpensive RV park. They have WIFI available but it's slow and expensive (dial-up speeds for $40 per month). It's so slow that VOIP drops pretty frequently, and video is out of the question. Rogers Mobile internet is only available in Canada. Anyone have any better suggestions please?

situation:

two computers share internet connection via a router.
one of the computers is turned on, whereas the other is off.

will the pc (that is on) have access to the internet?

I need help here, especially from someone who's well-versed in posting to different blog sites from wordpress.com

This incident started yesterday. I'm promoting different websites through my blog posting and since yesterday, as I was about to "PUBLISH" an article to a blog site, I was redirected back to "Writing New Post" and the article that I just tried to post is not on the list anymore of posted blogs when you click on the Manage button. So, I tried to post it to other blog sites from wordpress.com until I have found a "working" one where I've successfully posted my blogs. A friend of mine who's a technician told me there might be something wrong with the server of wordpress.com.....pls. help. i need another opinion...this kind of thing disrupts my work. thanks in advance.

My wireless Internet connection used to be super fast. However, it has been extremely slow lately. Websites take about half a minute to load and need to be refreshed a lot, the download speed drastically decreased (around 20 kb/s), and I often get timed-out or disconnected.

I have tried using some programs (TweakMaster and WinSockFix) to help boost my Internet speed but they did not help at all. I have also tried repairing my wireless Internet connection, but that did not help either.

What could be the cause of this, and is there any way to fix the problem?

I have a lap top thats about a year old and when i turned it on it was allready set up for wireless and i never had to do anything, NOw im realizing that im getting it from my neighbors, How and what do I need to have my internet Legit? Why do I get the same nonsensical email from so many different senders. All the names are first name, middle initial and last name and always contain something about how to 'satisfy' your woman via drugs or some sort of male inhancement. (by the way...I AM a woman so I certainly don't need my 'organ' inhanced.) I would love to know how "spam" works.

I don't know if this is a dumb question or not..but i was just wondering if there was any site you could go on to search the entire internet for pictures. I know there's like, flickr, photobucket, etc, but those only have pictures that people have uploaded to their site. And yahoo and google doesn't really search sites like that and every site that there is...do you know what i'm trying to say?

Well first I am clueless..so keep that in mind.
For the last four days I have been getting "error" messages from IE. And yeah yeah yeah..I keep clicking on the "report it" button. To no avail.
I have no clue as to what the problem may be. I am now REALLY sick of trying to connect to the internet over and over.
My problem? I am also so computer illiterate that I don't know how to discribe the problem any further.
Can you help? My service provider was of no help (imagine that!)

Lately, when I log on to myspace, the browser keeps freezing. Do you think it's the site? The last thing I did was run adaware program and I also deleted temporary internet files. Do you think that might be the site that's having problems?? What's wrong with it?

I don't like Google because I think it is over rated
I don't like Live Search (MSN) because I hate Microsoft
I don't use Yahoo because it frequently doesn't load
I don't use Mamma because it isn't very accurate
I don't use Meta Crawler because of it's crappy interface (same reason for Ixquick, Visimo, Info.com, Dogpile, Killer Info, Earthoid, and many other metasearch engines)
I use to use ChaCha but it doesn't have accurate results
I use to use Goodsearch but since it is owned by Yahoo I have problems loading it
Hotbot has a crappy interface IMO
I don't use Myriad search because it doesn't have an image search option

THEREFORE.....

I use Ask.com

- Accurate Results
- Image search capabilities
- Good Interface
- Many different search options

That is my why.

I was looking at an item on it and there was no way I could place a bid. It was best offer or buy it now. There was nothing by "Best offer". Does this mean there aren't any offers yet? I need to know because the item goes away in less than 3 hours.
