Well first I am clueless..so keep that in mind.
For the last four days I have been getting "error" messages from IE. And yeah yeah yeah..I keep clicking on the "report it" button. To no avail.
I have no clue as to what the problem may be. I am now REALLY sick of trying to connect to the internet over and over.
My problem? I am also so computer illiterate that I don't know how to discribe the problem any further.
Can you help? My service provider was of no help (imagine that!)
Thanks a million!
I have never had this issue until a few days ago.

OK this is what little I know..
I am connected through AT&T (btw-wouldn't wish it on anyone!) I do have high speed DSL.
And hell, I don't even know how to find out what version of IE I have! But if this helps...fyi..I have only had this thing for a year. (if you were as old as I am that is not very long-if you are young, it is a lifetime!) hahaha
How "out of date," after one year, could IE be??? I know they keep "popping up" and telling me to upgrade, but I am always afraid to make any changes! (again...it is an "old farrt" thing!)

I see, so even if someone tells you "get firefox" you won't be able to do that, because you can't connect to internet.

I will answer your question in therotical way since I have something to ask.

1. What connection you are using (Dial-Up/DSL)?
2. What OS or Internet Explorer version you are using?

If you are using DSL, make sure the person who installed your connection is at reach so you can ask questions like (what is my IP address?, What is my connection speed? What is the name of our server?)

Those are essentials when you are using Internet.

If you are using Dial-Up connection, be sure to enter the correct username and password.

Both connection uses IP address. so let the authorized person who will install your connection be the one to configure the LAN config.

What I do when this happens is re-install windows from the original CD. That re-installs IE too. That's prolly wrong but I do a lot of things wrong that work.

there may be million causes to your problem. here i just propose 2 of them:
1. form IE toolbar: tools\internet option\connections choose your internet connecion and click on "settings" in the opened window in "proxy settings" part unmark the check box.
2.when you connect to the internet in the left bottom part of your screen you can see to small computers that indicate your network connection. right click on them and choose "change windows firewall settings". in the opened window choose "off" and click on ok.
