Internet - September 2007

Probably been asked about a million gazillion times, but anyone not being able to access livejournal right now?

I can access any other pages on the web, just not livejournal. It's not forbidden or anything, just 'Failed to open page' - it failed to connect to server.
I'm using Safari on a Macbook, but just now have also tried accessing LJ using Opera and IE... any ideas?

You know the address bar at the top of the page? And when you click the arrow a list of all the websites you ever visited drops down?

How do you get rid of websites from this list?

I have a laptop w/ Vista Home Premium. I have a slightly older desktop that has XP Pro installed as well. I absolutely can not remember the password. I was told the only way to get by that is to "wipe it out & install XP Pro again".
Is that right? Or any other solutions? Or a website that could help?

i feel so weird when im emailing people to tell them i changed my email address AGAIN !! ive changed it 3 times already so i have 4 email addresses but i dont like any of them . i want a new one . i keep saying sorry to the people that im emailing my new email address to because its just really weird . ive like changed it soo many times . i have a new one in mind . well actually i already have the account but i havent told anyone about it yet . should i ? or should i delete and just stick with the ones i have .

On Myspace after applying different layouts, some layouts are designed so that even if you type exactly (for e.g.) "i like football", it will be displayed as "I Like Football" (automatically capitalising all first letters), or even some layouts show the text in entire capitals "I LIKE FOOTBALL".

Does anyone know what code it is that does this? And how to remove it/add it? Thanks.

I have sbc/at&t with the 2wire tower and we run the filters that connect to the phone around the house. whenever i use one of my phones the light on the tower blinks in orange but when i use another house phone it works fine. what do i do to make all the phones work with the internet? i already tried removing all the filters for 10 minutes and then put them back in again. so what do i do??? thanks

I bought a dorm on there, but I don't have any idea how to get my friends to come in. I can't invite some of them because most of my friends dont have the buton underneath that says "invite to your location" or whatever. The friends that do have that button are the friends I don't really care to talk to. How in the heck do I get my friends to come inside my dorm. I already know about the whole pubic and private setting and that still doesn't explain to me why my friends can't see my room. Can you tell me please how to do this because it's making me very angry.

I logged onto my computer this evening as I knew a friend was sending me an email but it didn't arrive. I have sent myself emails just to see if it is working and on average they are taking up to two hours to arrive if at all. Yahoo Answers to a question I sent in are also arriving very slowly even though when I go onto the Yahoo Answers site they are all there. My computer is not very old and I have not downloaded anything of any size. I have checked the memory and that has loads of space on it. Does anyone know what is happening, it will probably take me until tomorrow night to get any answers!!!!

My son can no longer connect to the internet. We have dial up (very small town in TX - nothing is availabel where we live) and we use MSN.

Normally when he puts in his password a message comes up that says "Dialing" and then Changes to "Sign In Attempt 1". It always connects on the first attempt.

The last few days it never tries to dial, just goes directly to "sign in attempt 1" and then attempts 2. Then it says it cannot connect.

It does not seem to be even trying to dial. Tested the modem it's good, tested the phone cord - it's good, tested the jack - it's good. Anybody had this problem? What can we do to fix it?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Someone recently notified me that they had "googled" my email address and, based on whatever information they got by doing so, no longer wished to correspond with me. What does googling an email address entail? What kind of information would a person get? I would like to find out if libel going on in association with my email address.
