Someone recently notified me that they had "googled" my email address and, based on whatever information they got by doing so, no longer wished to correspond with me. What does googling an email address entail? What kind of information would a person get? I would like to find out if libel going on in association with my email address.

enter email address into the GOOGLE search box, hit SEARCH

www.google.com

I'd be asking them WHAT they found and where so you could confirm it.

Was it someone you KNEW ? Was it someone that simply emailed you randomly ? Did they include ANY information in the email that confirmed to your mind they actually were someone that knew you ?

Just search for your email address (type into Google youremail@email.com or whatever your address is). It'll bring up pages that have your email posted publicly.

they probably searched your email in google I just tried it on my own email but I didnt get any results, try your email adress see what comes up, maybe some site is making your email adress visiable to anyone maybe a forum, a blog....

if they found a site with your email adress they probably learned somethings about your from reading what you wrote in that blog, forum, community....

I just googled my hotmail adress and got a link to my profile at a linux forum I'm in
