Internet - January 2007

Whenever I try to, the background I choose just shows above or below the text, not underneath it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have a wi-fi capable laptop and also a desktop (no LAN card but I'm planning to have it installed). If I apply to a DSL service, I would like to be able to use both the laptop and desktop online, with only 1 DSL account. I heard I could do this with a router or set up my own network at home. So in this case, what type of connection is better for me? Will the wireless DSL work on my desktop too? If I choose the wireless DSL, can I use my laptop online anywhere in the house? I'm kinda confused.

dsl internet is unavailable where I live, and I am tired of using dial up because it is so slow. Do any of yall have any experience with wireless internet and know the difficulty and costs of it?

Ok so my cat chewed up my dial-up cord so I finally set up my cord protector today. The only extra cord I could find that was long enough was about twice as long as I needed. I kept the excess in the middle wrapped up and taped it to the back of the desk, but it made me think: will all that extra cord make it any slower? If it does, i'll get another cord to use, but if it doesn't, then I won't bother.

As many of us know hits is not visitors.

One of my sites gets 1000 visitors a day 30,000 page views and up to 90,000 hits a day but I focus on the visitors in my promotion.

Competitors usuely emphasis hits as most people think this means visitors.

Do you think I should emphasis hits as well?

Everytime I try to login it takes me to this page.It just started doing this yesterday and I would just keep tryin to login until it worked but now I tried like 20 times and it just keeps sending me to this page.Is there anyway I could skip this page and just login to myspace?I cant download anything or update because Im not the administrator on this computer.This is the page it takes me to nd this is what it says...

Alot of people ask questions about things they can figure out on their own through some simple research, like history. Alot of people ask about wars or political leaders. You people obviously have computers, so you don't lack that resource. All you have to do is go to Google and look it up. There are online encyclopedias, articles, and other reliable sources of information that you can look up.


Why are we so dependent on other people for information when we have the resources to do it ourselves?


(I will admit that a bunch of people have legitimate questions about things that aren't so easy to find or aren't so reliable on the internet, like medical stuff, or personal issues. I'm just talking about those who want us to do their research for them so they can go to MySpace or play Minesweeper instead.)
