Computers & Internet - 8 July 2006

when i go to some websites like wikipedia or my school's email site, i get a blank page. it says "Done" on the status bar but there is nothing even when I refresh. This happens on many pages and its been happening more often recently. Its only on this computer that it happens, so I know the sites are not doing maintenance or shut down. I've tested my security levels (though I've never changed them) so I figure thats not the problem. The only internet protection program I have is StopZilla and I haven't changed those setting since I've installed it six mionths ago. What could be going on?

Can we earn some REAL rewards here?

All I'm saying is that we get some kind of bonus for all this work right?

Not unless you're bent on being the king of the forum.....ah, well....I'm not really up for the usual, "I've posted more than you" forum bullshit, and really....would just like to have a chunk of my already massively empty mailbox given back to me as some BW and memory for hosting music on my other forums.

Can I do that? I like the community here, I've already got an account.....who else out there thinks we should get something USEFUL for giving Yahoo! a huge community of new bloggers?

What ideas do you have?
Who should I ask that to for real?

Because, really....I just want some free hosting.

Compaq Presario won't turn on, whats up?

This WAS a good desktop until today when it wouldn't come on. Everything elde on the power strip comes on. Monitor etc. When I push the ON button nothing happens. I tried a different power cord, no go. Could the power supply have gone belly up? Now here I am still doing fine on this 6 year old E-Machine. I want my other back though.

Why is my Windows Xp Setup Freezing during the Installation of the Intel Chipset software?

I did a partition recovery and am installing Win XP from the recovery disk. It goes the thru the recovery, then reboot to finish up. I get all the way thru Software install and it freezes a few seconds after it gets to Intel Chipset. Hmmm. Thats almost 75% done im guessing. Anyone got a clue?? Thanks! Lemme know if ya need more info!

Does anyone know anywhere besides Photobucket where you can upload multiple pictures at a time?

People hotlink my stuff, so I've exceeded my bandwidth on Photobucket. I would use imageshack or something like that, but you have to upload things individually on there, and that takes too long.

Can you put xp professional upgrade in xp home disc?

I know you can put sp2 updates in the xp discs and make a new disc cause ive done that. i just was wondering if you basicaly could turn your xp home disc into an xp professional disc so you only had to install one disc instead of putting in the pro upgrade.
