JUST KIDDING: Does anyone know the origin of the phrase "Bouncing a check", or how that saying got started.

How does not having enough funds in your account to cover a check equate to the term Bounce?

Hi. Back when i was taking my a levels, i remember my econs tutor told me how valuable defect currencies are cos they should be 100% perfect when its out. But i have this $10 bill, singapore legal tender, the plastic one, it has many defects. And the one im particularly interested in is that yusoff ishak eyes actually(both the eyes) are actually printed very much above the normal position and make him look like a sad president. No joke. This is taking in comparison with the perfect plastic $10 bill. Even without comparing the bill, i know at one look this note really wrong. And because its defect and especially the distict mistake is makes yusof ishak look like a sad president, im very sure this one can sell. But im not sure who to turn to because im aware that i could be cheated of the actually selling price of this currency and i dont know who i should turn to to try to sell this note at the highest possible price?MAs? singapore mint?can i trust they buy at the highest price?

I am a small-sized commercial printer that is attempting to move from offset to digital as my customer base has a higher demand for quick turnaround short run aplications. I am also attempting to reduce the waste and costly time consumption of offset printing. I am looking to purchase a digital press and would like to get feedback from industry pllayers who have had experience with the various digital presses available on the market (ie HP Indigo, Xerox iGen3, Xerox DocuColor, Kodak Versamark,etc,..) The cost issue is also important as is troubleshooting and maintenance.

They are trying to get me to distribute catalogues for them. Apparantely I can get £220 approx for every 200 catalogues I distribute but of course I have to make a £75 investment to start it off. Apparently some people are making loads of money doing this, according to their brochure. They seem legitimate as they were in my local paper but I am skeptical.

Is this a scam?

My family used to run a goldfish farm. There are 12 ponds, 8 on one side, 4 on the other, divided by a large gulley, and another pond at each end. When we would empty the ponds and sain them, the water would flow to either one of the end ponds, which also served as personal bass ponds. Out of the 14 ponds total, there is 1 that still has water and fish in it. The rest have dried up&have some trees and CRP grass growing in them. My grandfather told my uncle and I that they were ours to do with as we wanted. I started to do some restoration work when my grandfather told me he had given up the water rights to do anything commercial with the ponds since it cost so much each year and they haven't used for a good about 10 years. He said he kept enough to keep using our one bass pond. Each pond covers 3-4 acres I'm guessing. I would like to come up with an idea on how to use them to make some money. They put app.$250,000 into building them and it just sits there going to waste.
