Hi. Back when i was taking my a levels, i remember my econs tutor told me how valuable defect currencies are cos they should be 100% perfect when its out. But i have this $10 bill, singapore legal tender, the plastic one, it has many defects. And the one im particularly interested in is that yusoff ishak eyes actually(both the eyes) are actually printed very much above the normal position and make him look like a sad president. No joke. This is taking in comparison with the perfect plastic $10 bill. Even without comparing the bill, i know at one look this note really wrong. And because its defect and especially the distict mistake is makes yusof ishak look like a sad president, im very sure this one can sell. But im not sure who to turn to because im aware that i could be cheated of the actually selling price of this currency and i dont know who i should turn to to try to sell this note at the highest possible price?MAs? singapore mint?can i trust they buy at the highest price?

It's really hard to say how much any individual error note is worth without seeing a photo, and even then, it comes down to how much an individual collector is willing to pay. The way you describe it, I'm guessing the colors were misaligned during the printing process, and part of the value will stem from the degree of misalignment.
My suggestion would be to try selling it on eBay. You absolutely would have to include a photo in the description. I would put a starting price of 5 times face value and see how it goes from there. You may wish to restrict bidding to people with ratings of 10 or more, and 98%+ positive feedback. That will make it somewhat harder for scammers.

Added later: I don't see where the Mint or MAS would buy that sort of thing. Here in the US, the Federal Reserve would only replace your error note with a non-error.
If you are worried about not getting enough on eBay, why don't you just put an artificially high reserve on it?

I would like very much to see a photo of your note, just for my own curiosity, if possible.

I am somewhat reluctant to put my e-mail address here, however, you can contact me by clicking on my avatar and then clicking on "E-mail I. B. Zoxx", and I can send my address to your regular e-mail. If that doesn't work, let me know

has it occurred to you that this bill could be a counterfeit?

Ok if your positive it is not counterfiet I would suggest an on line auction perhaps Ebay or something similiar. Be sure to put a reserve price of what you expect to get for it or what you think it will fetch. If nothing else you can get a feeling of what others think it is worth.

Good luck
