Alright from what little I have learned so far in my valuation class about bond yield I understand that in order to get the rate of return = to YTM we require: 1) to get the cash flows when promised, 2) Hold it to maturity, 3) be able to reinvest that bond at the original YTM. I don't understand how the 3rd one helps us get the return on the bond that equals the YTM? Can anyone please explain. Thanks a lot everone.

Companies that are labeled for "growth" and also pay good dividends. Simply put, companies that can anchor your retirement fund for like 40+ years.

Most corporate bonds pay interests twice a year
Where can I find the exact date when a corporate bond pays interests?

Do you have to own the bond some time before the payment date to be "appointed"? Similarly to stocks and their ex-dividend-date?

tnx

i've invested in ITC stock 4months back. I bought it at 188 and now its 169. Its been 4 months and that stock is not moving ahead as expected. I didn't expect this from 'A' class stock like ITC. There is not much competetion for its cigeratte industry and its hotel industry is doing pretty good and so does the food industry. Since so much is good about this company then why isn't this stock moving guys ?!!!
