My sister who was POA of my mother sold a large amont of her Exxon stock without my mothers knowledge. The advisior never informed my mother of the details or any information of the transaction and never saw the POA papers. My mother is very competant and is now facing huge tax problems. She never knew what the stock sold for or what the investment plans were. At 68 she was doing fine with a monthly divided check. She lost money because of a financil advisior talked to my sister. Is he not partly responsible for advising to sell something that just increased in value? Wasn't he suposed to see my mother and explain his plan? Is he just stupid of money hungry?

Steron, an Irish company, has today claimed they have invented a technology that produces free, clean, and constant energy. Supposing they are right, what impact do you think this would have on our world?

The stock I own is actually Cifra S.A. de C.V. I was wondering if anyone knows the value of this certificate. I have quite a bit of shares but not sure if it worth anything since the stock converted to Wal Mart de Mexico.

I've rode the Greyhound one too many times. I feel like weeping before, during, and after every ride. Let's get to the point: Greyhound has no competition, so they can settle for what they have now and not do much about REALLY bringing in some more business and not just more money.

After every trip, the bus driver will say, "We hope you enjoyed your trip!" I don't believe that homeless people in Third World Countries would ENJOY a Greyhound bus trip. I mean, we survive, yeah. After one ride, you feel like a true hero.

My last Greyhound trip was to New York. I'm thinking of diligently praying for a car and new job so I won't EVER have to be seen in a Greyhound again. A complete business revamp of stricter rules, stricter training, more pay for employees; new colors and signs, expanded stations, re-designed buses, ads that actually use money, and just plain BUSINESS SENSE would make Grey go International, not stay National. Grey's Headship is just plain lazy. My 2 sense.

I want to start investing... with a small initial investment, and at a very low risk. I prefer to do it online rather than driving somewhere. How/where do I start?

There is no first minimum deposit amount required (can be any amount), but does the amount first deposited affect the interest or anything? Even if I deposit higher amounts after the initial deposit? Say if i first deposit $50 and then my further deposits vary (maybe up to $500). So should I try to deposit a large amount of money first? Or does it matter?
I'd prefer answers from people who work with savings accounts or have experience with ING or similar. Thanks.
