I DONT WANT YOUR PERSONAL OPINION!!! (i.e.: "I work at Wal-Mart and it sucks") I've read the top 100 companies to work for on the Fortune Magazine website ( http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/bestcompanies/snapshots/558.html ) but I was curious about what's the worst...

As long as I can remember, gas has cost .98 and 9/10 of a cent or $1.69 and 9/10 of cent. With the billions of dollars in profits that they are making, shoul;dn't they drop that 9/10th of a cent from their prices. I know, they would probably round it up to a full 1 cent.

I work for a branch office of a major corporation. I was supposed to have received my raise this paycheck, but didn't. Instead, I find that my pay has remained the same, but the final amount of the paycheck has decreased, but found out that it was due to a discrepancy where I shouldn't be paying city taxes. (I live in a different county, and outside of the city limits.) I asked my boss about this, and she said because of "lack of profits", we won't see our raises until December.

Should I get a lump sum with that paycheck for back pay owed?? Is there a way that a peon like me in this company can find out the truth without getting into trouble? (My boss is known to lie to make herself look good!)

I used to be able to and now that I actually NEED to talk to someone (because what I need is not an 'option' of the automated choices), they have gone and changed their customer service number's format. There is no 'press zero' option no matter where I go for their options! UGH!

I mean " Public "company that are going out for people to own shares with?

When it comes to public company, employees working there will get hurt if market is bad. On the contrary, private company wont get hurt either way.(they do use some money to invest)

I developed a product in an untapped niche market. I have a great proposal, business plan, and marketing strategy. How do I get a meeting with the HUGE company I want to work with? How to I prevent them from simply doing it without me? (copyrights don't apply here) They could pretty much just take my research and idea and do their own thing... or should I raise my own investment capital and produce it myself to avoid the above scenario?

Call me crazy, but I think that myspace.com is simply a massive marketing scheme. At this point it is owned by News Corp. News Corp. is one of 6 huge corporations (the others are Viacom, NBC, Disney, Sony, and of course AOL Time Warner) that own nearly all media outlets in the U.S. including almost all major newspapers, record companies, radio stations, television channels, publishing companies, etc. (check out http://www.cjr.org/tools/owners/new... for more info). Anyway, these "Big 6" Corporations dropped from 10 to 6 in less than a decade, and seem to be narrowing down even more. Many people using myspace.com don't realize who owns. If users display all of th music, films, tv shows, etc. that they enjoy as well as posting pictures to display how they like to be portrayed to the rest of th world, don't you think this is a fool-proof marketing tool for News Corp?
