Did you know that Walmart caused many factories to close their doors in this town and many others across America?
If America would just stop buying imports we might beable to regain our industrial strength again, but I doubt it

Is WalMart good for America?
Well it's good for China. WalMart forces it's suppliers to supply things at such low prices that those factories sometimes have to close their American shops, fire all their American workers, and move their factories overseas. Just wander around WalMart and look where everything is made.
On the other hand, they do have very low prices. So it's a double edged sword. But i'll happily pay a few dollars more for a product made in America by Americans than for something made in China.

Walmart, and super stores like them, are actually good for America in theory. That theory is that cultural America isn't actually important as it seems to small town America, and that a national culture will be better for America on the whole.

The main problem with Walmart, and why they as a corporation aren't good for America, is that they buy too much from China, and in doing so further force a reliance on China onto America.

yes I knew that but any company buy imports they are less expensive to pyrchase because they don't have unions jacking up the price.

When Sam was alive Walmart was a good company to work for and be a part of. When his boys took over they don't give a damn about anything but the bottom line.

I think WalMart is bad for many reasons. However, I shop there which is horribly hypocritical. I would not shop there unless I had to, and I feel WalMart kind of has us in the palm of it's hand by offering a wide variety of stuff at pretty low prices. Personally, I don't know where else to go to buy many items not available locally. I live in a suburb, but we have no fabric stores, or any place to buy CD's, and who sells plastic storage tubs when I need them? WalMart puts other businesses out of business...it's capitalism, I get it...BUT, in doing so it offers us no other option but to shop at their store, and in a way that is a monopoly.

As for low prices, I would gladly, pay more if I knew WalMart would dissapear and I could support smaller local businesses.
