For them to get in trouble a law suit would have to be brought against them showing damages. It would have to involve large damages suffered by a great number of people who could then file a class action law suit. It hasn't happened ...yet!

They legally can not sell your personal information without your concent! It is invasion of privacy! Talk to an attorney to find out, keep in mind companies (big companies) do it all the time and get away with it through some loop hole! Good Luck though!
