Suppose a publishing company places an article in one of its magazines, and had the article copyrighted under the name of the corporation, rather than any individual author (article was copyrighted in 1992 in the US).

If this company became dissolved a few years later as the result of a bankrupty, are all active copyrights also dissolved? Or would the entitlement be transferred to one of the creditors as part of the liquidation process?

I want to use their article, but I can't exactly request written permission from a company that does not exist.

(And excuse my usage of business terms; they're probably incorrect ... I'm a physics student who's useless at anything related to money, the arts, pretty much anything involving creativity...)

VIEW ONE: Shareholders bear the risks and should have the final say on how public companies are run.

VIEW TWO: Modern competitive conditions require a 'stakeholder' approach to running public companies.

VIEW THREE: The only way business and communities can develop together is if businesses are owned and run by the communities they are in.

Banking used to be a very heavily regulated industry. During the Nixon Adminstration a report was created for congress (Hunt Report) suggesting how the banking industry should be changed to have freedom to move into different areas.

Since the financial industry received "more freedom" we have seen the S&L problems, ( based on combining multiple un-profitable companies into one and saying that they are profitable (called goodwill), we have seen Enron, sub-prime lending out of control and others that escape me now.

The common thread on all, government bail out..."Help me".

Should regulations be put back in place? It seems like this is an industry that can't manage itself....

In simple english, if there are limtations of scope ; such as not being able to attend stock count but you have accounted for it and have come up to a point where you have to deliver your audit opinion. Audits require us to carry out work but since this was info given to us, the opinion we give is qualified but am not sure if it is - 'qualified except for' or 'qualified with a disclaimer'.
Can you help?

I have recently received a job offer from a legit furniture company located in England. In this position I will be their agent in the US which entails processing orders. Part of the position involves making deposits in my name from the customers, which when cleared will then be forwarded to the company. This sounds very fishy, has anyone heard of such a thing??
