hi there, i work at costco 10hours a week. i do 4 hours on friday evening and 6.5 hours on a sunday plus the occasion saturday. i have been there for 18months now and i am the best cashier the store have got. I went to the store manager and said to him, that i need a new challenge, i am the best cashier and i meet all the set targets and goals and i want you to set me new targets set new challanges to make the job more intresting. The store manager then said to me "am i flexible and avaliable to work saturdays" i said yes depending on how exciting the challenge is. He then went to the cashiers manager and said something to him, and the the cashier manager came up to me and said am i avaliable on saturdays ? i said "yes" he then said he is looking for a supervisor for weekends and i meet all the conditions. He then said he going to look in to it and get back to me. what are the chances ill get the supervisor job ? or how could i ask him on friday when i go to work ?

It looks good to me !

When you get in on Friday, ask if they have made a decision ..

If you are offered the new post you could ask what is the description of the new duties, what training will they provide, what the weekend rates will be (should be 'time and a half' for Saturday and double time for Sunday) and how soon you can expect a pay review / increase ...

If you decide to accept, ask if the Store Manager could announce your promotion to the other staff (eg. on the Notice Board) ... otherwise you will not get respect and every one will expect you to carry on doing all your old work AS WELL as the new stuff

If I were you I would just wait a week or two before asking your supervisor anything. But, from what you write, your chances sound pretty good to me.
