In other words, are corporations and partnerships able to avail themselves of different defenses than each other, are they liable in different circumstances than each other, etc. Or is the general rule applicable to all business types--that principles are liable for their agents' acts if the principle controls the manner and means of the work, if the agent is within the scope of employment and is not an independent contractor?

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

I used to work for a multi million dollar security firm, usually provides security for military bases and federal facilities. It seems for the past 6 years the project managers who come and go are all real head hunters. It seems they fire anyone , or it seems, anyone who slips up once and adds more infractions , or just nit pick to no end in order to fire employees. One notorious security firm that is very well known for this is AKAL. All the project managers that have taken that oath of position have fired those for infractions that go as ridiculous as suggesting a certain idea to improve work conditions , or not doing a bidding that would go against a code of ethics , to parking in the wrong designated parking spot. It seems a trend. Is it the power trip? Or does the corporation puppet these types of managers as tools to fire their employees? And why? I know as a position of project manager or the sort there is that tendency to become power hungry , basically turning into an anus.

I started a LLC for my music Production company..however ironically once i made it official...i haven't had any business. I started the corp this year. If i dont have any business..is there a penalty? do i need to pay anything? by the way i am in California...so does anyone know if and how this will affect me?
Should i be worried when it comes to filing taxes..considering i haven't had any business?

Just wondering if board members to companies and ngo's are paid? Is it more of a status position? I am sure it depends on the situation but what criteria are common for a board member to actually get paid?

OK, here's my question. I put up on youtube my favorite TV commercials ever, about 2 years ago. Yes, I don't own the rights to it it's over 10 years old, (Superbown 1997)

(See it below it's still floating around youtube ---> http://youtube.com/watch?v=ho9WiVrYRv8

This commercial is a parody of the YMCA they don't use the same lyrics. I did name the file "YMCA Pepsi Bears Superbowl 1997"

This week it was taken down by youtube due to a copyright infringement notice. (here it is)----> "This is to notify you that we have removed or disabled access to the following material as a result of a third-party notification by Scorpio Music S.A. / Can't Stop Productions claiming that this material is infringing"

Why in the world would the publishing company care about this? I really doubth they are loosing sales due to a TV ad parody. I'm really tired of media companies complaining about trivial crap like this. If this is the case, shouldn't the YMCA organization complain to Scorpio?

my son works at a tesco local and has done since he left school 2yrs ago. he has recently been promoted to team leader and sometimes has to manage the shop. to my horror, he told me that apart from learning how to use the till, stocking up ect, he has had no training whatsoever on how to deal with joe public in challenging situations ie how to defend himself or even if he can, his legal rights ect.is this true all you tesco workers??he states that tescos dont invest money on their staff training and thats why they have so much money.. he has never been on or been offered any sort of training course since hes worked there, not even first aid.i just wondered how many of you have come across this..
