That is my score, but I own a home and make over $40,000 a year. I was 30 days late on my house payment 1 time. I have one charge-off from 3 years ago, when i was broke, and 2 old phone/tv bills(collection accts.) that were from college (4-5 years ago). I have only one recent (within 3 years) collection acct.. I just got my report, and I want to buy a new vehicle. Am I screwed??!!

Specifically, I'm wondering if society's stereotypes would somehow doom my chances of overall business success, even if the resort is very pure, clean, of the highest behavioral standards. Is America ready for such things?

My company offers AFLAC as an "employee paid" benefit. I find their package confusing and hard to figure out. My first reaction is that they are very expensive for the limited coverages offered. Does anyone have an experience or opinion?

My car was broken into at my parents house. The stereo was stolen out of the car along with personal items (Clothes & such). I filed a claim with my car insurance and they are paying for the damage to car. However, the stereo and personal effects they stated are normally covered by home owners insurance. Is this normally the case? Has anyone ever claimed anything like that on home owners insurance?
Thanks

I got a new job - flying as a commercial pilot with a small local company - however the catch of the job is, I need to advertise (for the first few months) or recruit people to travel on 10-14 day tours of the Australian outback in order to get work.

In addition I need to advertise for other customers who might need flying services...

What should I do to advertise? Where to place ads? Are places like train stations and aero clubs a good idea?

Tourist offices?

What sort of advertising?

How about for other general customers?

Any help appreciated!

My credit is not good and my income picture is not great now either. However, this is a genuinely world-changing concept, and I am sincerely determined to reward any early investors for their faith or their insights (a rare person can recognize valuable ideas). I will not give up, and I will not wait 10 years until my credit/income picture is better.

I have a great income as an engineer. However, with today's economy and still very high housing prices, I find it almost impossible to buy a house or save fast enough for a downpayment. I have saved about 25K already, but I will need 50K more for downpayment and other fees.

I have read several finance books, but most of them do not cover coping with todays economy and tailored to 24 year olds.

What are your savings and frugal living tips?
