I was given this with a note card that said it was a popular craft of the 40's and 50's. It is approx. 10"x12' in size. A blond woman with real hair. the woman is made of paper and she has a red material dress on. Looks like a very fancy dress to me. It has a side view of her head she has pencil eyes and nose and red lips. It appears to be in the original frame. There are no markings on the picture or back whatsoever that I see. I hope someone can help me identify this and it's worth if any.
Thank you so much.
Donna

It seems that most of the greatest artists had a loose screw. Do you agree? I think I'm messed up in the head, but I'm not a very good artist. You decide. http://vivesoad.deviantart.com/

I sketched a friend a few days ago, and I scanned the sketch into the computer. I opened it on Paint, and I start applying color over the pencil lines while coloring the sketch in. I produced several different pictures of the person, with different expressions on. Would this be considered a form of visual art, even though it's not done by hand? And does it display any amount of artistic skill? Here's one of my "painted" versions:

I'm an animation student but I hope to do some work in illustrating or writing books for youngsters as well probably 8 years and younger. What kind of books do your kids or kids you know like? Do they prefer human characters or animals or anthropoamophic ones?
Thanks in advance

Desperately seeking a blank, unlined book with at least 150 leaves, preferably hardcover. Dimensions no larger than 7x9". It needs to lay flat when opened.

Most important consideration - it needs to have a flexible binding that can accommodate inserts and page buckling from painting, without the fore edge of the book splaying open. In other words, when unused, the spine has to be at least twice as thick as the fore edge so the book can be filled with inserts.

Scrapbooks won't work; they never have enough pages. I found some scientific lab notebooks online with expandable bindings, but they're all too large (13" and up).

I know I could bind one myself, but would rather not. I'd also rather not take a regular blank book and remove pages, since most normal books only have 150-200 pages to begin with ( so I'd be left with fewer pages than I want).

Does anyone know if such a product exists?

I'm making some brochures for my social studies class. I'm wondering about where it is okay to put the credit (my name) on the brochure. I think that most brochures have the credit on the back pannel, but is it okay to put it on the front of the brochure (especially if there is not a lot of graphics)?

Also, how much graphics should I have on the front cover? Is it okay to just have a border and the title (fancied up)? I don't want to have it cluttered or empty.
