I sketched a friend a few days ago, and I scanned the sketch into the computer. I opened it on Paint, and I start applying color over the pencil lines while coloring the sketch in. I produced several different pictures of the person, with different expressions on. Would this be considered a form of visual art, even though it's not done by hand? And does it display any amount of artistic skill? Here's one of my "painted" versions:

I know the two don't look alike. I was trying to change the appearance drastically.

Compared to things I've seen hanging in museums that amount to little more than splashes of paint, this definitelt falls into te "art" gategorie. What comes to my mind would be considerd a "coulage" of sorts and you could use varios shades, poses, and highlights of different areas of the face to represent your interpretation of mood or whatever else you decide to express. Keep up the good work.
