I've recently made a decision that I'd like to pursue art in college. I'm interested in graphic design and/or advertising design and I am definitely going to need a portfoilo to display what I've done. Problem is I honestly haven't dont much...I took art courses at my school in middle school and 9th and 10th grade, I have two really good works but both are based off of photographs from magazines, and I've heard works based from photographs aren't considered strong pieces. I've enrolled in an art course at an art institute nearby to work on my skills, and I'm taking AP Studio Art and an Advanced Draw and Paint class from my highschool this year. Do I have any chance of creating a good portfolio in time for aplication deadlines? I need about 12 art works. Thanks anyone who can help or has any advice for me, it means a lot.

I'm new to stained glass myself, and I love it! I enjoy the challenge of it. At first it was a little scary working with glass (and still is sometimes) because it can break and cut you if you're not careful. Now that I'm gaining a little competence, it's very exciting. Plus, my piece is coming together nicely.

I'm still on my first project: a mosaic wall hanging. The next class project involves soldering.

I'd like to hear what others who work (or worked) in stained glass feel about the medium. I'd love to hear your stories if you'd like to share. Thank you!

people are watching me, everywhere i go. its like this whole earth is just based on me, like a tv show..watching everywhere i go, do. maybe its not..maybe the government is watching me...

reply im going to get is

''dude, you need help.''

i dont need help...because its really happening...some of you are probably in on it..and then..if they do find out that i know...the men in the white suits will come to take me away and refresh my memory..from day 1..and start over..

it probably happened to me alot..its no..good..this is no good...everywhere i go, i feel the lurkness of people watching...and everytime i know theres going to be an asshole or a she-asshole going to do something to prevent me from doing, to get up there...THERE IS...there everywhere..INCLUDING HERE...

see, what i think is..some people need to be watched over, because they might turn psycothic, they were tested on, there special experiments open into society, which we know as.

good?...no..not good..

My father had a beer mug that someone had made into a candle and it looked just like a freshly poured beer. The golden brown wax had the odd tiny bubble, but the foamy looking head had tons of bubbles of all size.

We'd like to recreate this as a home art project..... (and the crayon box is over flowing)

Any suggestions on how to create the bubble effect?

We are sponsoring an International T-Shirt Design contest. We have put up adds on Craigslist... but Craigslist hates multipost. The T-shirt design is for the Beer Drinkers Union. http://www.beerdrinkersunion.com . T-Shirt Design Contest Details are available on the site. We are currently a non profit movement.

A friend of mine gave me a hologram several years ago ( probably close to 10 years now) I used to have it on my wall, with the special light shining on it, and it looked great. Then I moved and it was in storage for probably 5 years. The other day, I took it out of storage and shone the light on it, and could barely see it anymore.
