NYC - Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan and plenty more. Take the train to Penn Station and the subway anywhere after that.

There are lots of museums in New York to meet all interests: the Guggenheim, MoMA, the Met, AMNH - even a few more esoteric topics like the history of the subway system.
