In some fantasy and SF stories, such as the Matrix, it is suggested that our life is overshadowed by a designer or architect. Have you ever wondered for a moment that you have created the "program" of reality that you are living now and that you are observing or may observe later the outcome of your life as you may have predicted the way it would be before you were born?

we study for more then ten years like a bumpkin, then we spend the next several ten years working like a dog or a horse for the rich (companies), possibly forming a family. then we'll be waiting for death.

but seems to be too painful to suicide.
so why do we live?
seems the pain to die isn't a motive strong enough to drive us keep living.

I was reading the Introduction to Nietzsche and it was explaining how he said even though he despised politics, if he had to chose the lesser of all evils, he'd chose a Machiavellian standpoint.

In what way?

I'm not very well versed with Machiavelli so what exactly did Nietzsche find attractive about. (I think, besides Shopenhauer and Dostoyvsky, Machiavelli was the only other philosopher who was in anyway complemented or approved of by the extremely critical Nietzsche)
