Failure is not an option it's a result.

You can choose to fail a test, but if you fail the test you have succeeded at that choice.

Can the choice to fail be considered failure?

It can be dangerous to not regard "failure" as one of the options. For example, in climbing a difficult mountain peak, weather conditions could change and present extreme dangers, so that a retreat would be the best thing to do, even if it means "failing" to make it to the top.

To take another example, a man creates a start-up company with a terrific product. After he's plowed into it a lot of other people's monies as well as his own, if the product fails to take off, sometimes the best thing to do is to call it quits, because otherwise even MORE money could be lost needlessly. Frequently, it can be a dififcult call to make, just when to call it quits, but sometimes it's a very necessary thing to do.

The only true failure is apathy, unwillingness to take any more chances, after you've had some setbacks.

I think the more important question is: What is failure? For me, failure means giving up or giving in. If I compromise my morals or virtues, or any other part of me, that I swore I'd always hold true to- to me that's failure. But I think the sense of failure is unique to the individual. Some people can achieve happiness and a sense of success, even if they "give up" on a certain goal they have. The question then becomes: Did they really fail if they are happy?

Yes, failure is an option but not for everyone. Failure is a realistic form of humility.

Failure is only an option if you allow it to be! God has given everyone of us special talents of some sort and it is up to us to figure out what they are and make the best of them!! Just don't ever give up!! Good Luck!!

Failure can just be a change in the path of life. Like that saying "When God closes a door he opens a window"
