I noticed some people could have premonition dreams and it really does happen or even a strong intuition. How many people believe that? I think that must be a gift to be able to sense or to dream about something and it really does happen. Could someone tell me what dream they had and it happened or it was somewhat like your dream?

ask questions like, is there a God? anything like that would totally depend on what the answerer believes (and many people on here dont believe)but there really is, so nobody try to convince me theres not... the real question is, are YOU willing to believe??? if you want to believe in God, then go to church, and if you dont, then dont waste our time trying to convince you that there is.

Why are some people so rich it makes my skin scrawl and all they do half the time is happen to be born into a rich family?
Then why are people born like destitutes in war-raging Africa.
Life's unfair. I don't get how God decides who's born where.

The idea of subjective idealism, and the subjective nature of our perceptions, are almost totally ignored in main society. People will often not budge about being wrong when it's inevitable that they will be wrong about some aspect of their belief. Not understanding that we can not truely grasp "truth" breeds all sorts of delusions that can lead to violence or disorder. So how do you educate a volume of people enough so that they will at least analyze themselves a bit more and accept that there is always something to learn and correct? It seems we are doomed if we cannot figure out how to see past our own misconceptions on a wide scale, the only reason it seems to have worked so far is that you have other people to point out your wrong.

We only need 30 nukes. After that, it only gets ridiculous. During the cold war, we wanted all our nukes as a deterrent from the 'evil' empire of the soviets taking over if they completely obliterated us. Therefore the mutually assured destruction MAD pact. This to me, is quite ******* crazy.

Russia almost nuked USA in 1995 by ACCIDENT:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjwcqwwso...

But I think that our policy should be quite different because (1). Russia is not an evil empire, and even if you thought it was before, its not now, its capitalist now.

So if we were to 'think' we were getting nuked by Russia...what purpose would be of nuking them? destroy 100'ds of millions of human beings?

I think the policy should be MUTUALLY unassured destruction (MUD), by which each country says it won't nuke the other if its nuked....because its going to get ****** anyway either way (the same exact way)....and revenge is futile since both Russia and USA have same ideology.

revenge?

For a few years now, and especially in the last year or so, I have been going through some major changes in my life and I am not sure how I am getting through them, I just know that I have to and that I am. I am not sure what the future holds for me right now. I am just wondering if there is anyone out there that has went through a long period of time where many things were changing in their lives all at once from living arrangements, family relationships and major illnesses, friends, job or professional relationships, and things like that. How did you make it through it and how did you keep yourself going and in a positive frame of mind? Do you have any good suggestions for anyone else going through anything like this in life? Do you have any good words of support or encouragement for them?

I am interested in your opinion on this. Is science becomming a new religion? Where instead of people having faith that a supernatural force can explain everything, they have faith that scientific theorys are absolutely correct and indisputable, even if they don't really understand them?

Is science in danger of loosing its self critical quality? Do you think there are instances where scientific progress has directed our understanding in such a way that there may be better theories out there, but these theories are unreachable unless we backtrack and move down a new path?

If it were possible to create our own unique heaven, what would be the smells that floated around in it? Mine would be fresh laundry, gardenia, summertime, puppy breath and maybe a little skunk every now and again.

If you learned today that, if you had been aborted as a fetus, your pre-life/early life material would have been responsible through Stem Cell Research for saving millions of lives, improving millions of lives, curing cancer, repairing spinal cord damage, reversing Alzheimer's, or helping massive burn victims ... And if you could go back in time, would you CHOOSE to be aborted and used for that purpose?

parsonsknows has already asked that but not the way I will. The thing that makes me ask that,at first look, obvious qusetion is the fact that people can get used to everything. For example if your PC is broken I will be fealing very bad to say the least. We can't imagine our life without a TV or a car or anything else we take for granted nowadays. But guess what-medieval men weren't depresed of the fact that they didn't even have electricity and do you know why-because they couldn't imagine something better than the life they had.Now we go to the next part of the question. Are we happier now that we have all of these technological advancments? When you think about it those qusetions are the same.after all the point of progress is to make us happier,right-wrong!We are more stressed and we have as much as to worry about as people a thousand years ago did.
