ask questions like, is there a God? anything like that would totally depend on what the answerer believes (and many people on here dont believe)but there really is, so nobody try to convince me theres not... the real question is, are YOU willing to believe??? if you want to believe in God, then go to church, and if you dont, then dont waste our time trying to convince you that there is.

A lot of people are ambivalent. They're not sure what they believe. They want to believe in God but don't have faith and they think that having someone else confirm it will make it more real for them.

I think though that you either have faith or you don't. I do. I believe in God. I'm a Catholic. I don't think you necessarily find Him in a church (though it can't hurt!) The times I've felt closest to God were in nature (standing on a mountaintop, watching the sun rise etc). It's a beautiful world. What more proof do we need than that? There is no concrete proof for the existence or non-existence of God. You can examine the facts & make your own conclusion. It's something you feel in your heart.

While there are convincing arguments for a Creator (First Cause, Intelligent Design) I don't think these would convert a total atheist. Faith isn't something that can be learned. Some people would need to see a big hand reaching out of the sky before they'd be convinced. Of course faith is believing without seeing...

I do believe in God, though do not attend church as often as I should. Perhaps some of the people who ask that question do attend church, but are becoming doubtful due to peer-pressure or what they learn in classes such as biology.

Yes, anyone who asks this question should be aware that the answers will be biased, and the opinion only of each answerer. They may just wish to see how many people believe, and how many don't.

Maybe some of the people who ask were not raised religiously, but are now wondering if there is something to religion. I am acquainted with people who don't go to church because they need to work, or because they are exhausted from work, or because they don't feel they need to be in church to pray to God.

Many who were raised in a certain religion, may want to know more about other religions (or other denominations of his or her own religion). If they are old enough, they should check out various churches to see which one they can relate to.

Every house of worship is God's house, but things are done a bit differently in each (even those of the same denomination can have some differences). Remember that God did not make religions (just as He didn't write the Bible), men did.

You dont have to go to church to believe in God. As to why people ask these questions? It's very simple... They seek answers and are not satisfied with whatever they are being told. They want to hear and share opinions and hopefully this may help them come to some conclusions. Be gracious, allow the growing mind to wonder and question. It is only by these means we seek truth.

You don't have to go to church to believe in God. Someone asking about God may be seeking God. We have to plant the seed and that is all we can do.

I'm with you, I believe and I don't care what anyone else thinks about it.

I'm not sure the church part is important. My relationship with God is actuall a lot better since I got religion out of the picture.

Love and blessings don

I know........the basic questions get answered over and over again....like .....is there a God? What is the true meaning of life?
If a tree falls in the forrest and no one is there to hear the sound, does it still make a sound?

They are very broad questions and asked for as long as humans could ask questions.

The questions are mostly the same... What is the meaning of LIFE? Is there a GOD? It's getting more and more difficult to answer provocative and compelling questions. People!

I suppose the onslaught of theories brings on confusion in the person, and by supressing other ideas, there is nothing to make you doubt and upset your perspective on life. Or they believe full-heartedly in his or her religion, and they can't find any reason that there's is something that's different.

They ask that because a lot of people say there is a God, yet when they look around, they see no presence of God.
