What's it like? Will we be naked? Do we need houses?...or beds? Will there be food? Why would we need any of this stuff? Does it rain in heaven? Is there snow? What games are there to do there? Can I go fishing?...or is that bad to harm fish in heaven? Will I have my eyebrows?...cuz I like my eyebrows. Is there dancing? Education? If I wanted to, could I swim in a lake full of lava?...that would just be cool! As funny as some (okay, most) of what I said here is...and believe me, I could go on and on..., I am curious to know peoples' thoughts on this. Thanks.

You can never be in equivalence to whatever you could never represent as part, whole, equivalence, difference, bound, tie, influence, sensation, origin, derivative, rule, condition, intent and fulfillment.

Sometimes, I feel like I would. Of course, you answer to this question is heavily dependent on your personal definition of intelliegence. To me, intelligence means the ability to learn new things and apply both new and old knowledge to solve problems. I like being intelligent, but sometimes I feel like I could be happier if I could just go with the flow and be less aware of my own ignorance, which catalyzes the desire to learn. How do you think and feel about this issue? Does ignorance and the abscence of doubt really equal bliss?

ok, so there is this kid (16) who I pretty much hated. He was a huge a*s hole who added extra stress to my life. Last night he killed himself and I am not gonna lie, I am actually glad he'll never bother me again and i'll never have to worry about him. Is that so wrong? I mean, if someone the government doens't like dies, it's a good thing. Why do people keep telling me I am so messed up because I am glad a kid who tried to jump me and would try again if he ever got the chance is dead and gone and out of my life for good? This kid was out to get me for no reason, and now I can relax. Please tell me why I am so messed up... if you think I am

First of all, Thrasymachus made a very good suggestion that we all check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/immanuel_ka... for important background. Hopefully it will provide a little bit of meat for our black pepper meal of Kant. Whether you choose to do this or not, is up to you.

I propose the reading of The Introduction and the Preamble of the Prolegomena for this week.

Now, once we get started, aside from trying to keep us on track for weekly? readings, its up to you guys. Hopefully you guys will place questions and insights (heck, if you have really good and important insights phrase them as questions so that we can learn from them as well).

So philosophy reading group. Are you ready to get started?

I am working on vaccines for some of the most deadly viruses that God ever brought forth from hell. Thankfully, they have not yet found their way to human or primate populations.

Anyway, here's the problem:

There are days when I go to work and wonder what would happen if I screwed up the protocol, if I failed to pay attention to what I was doing, thus releasing the beast. The most destructive force in the history of life on this planet would be unleashed and man would finally know the totallity of hell on Earth.

I have sworn that if I failed my duty, I would first try to resolve the problem and protect the people of this Earth from near certain extinction. Once the problem was resolved, I would determine the aftermath. If there was a death toll consisting of innocent people, I would take my own life without hesitation.

Likewise, if I ever became infected with a certain one of the viruses, I would throw myself into an incinerater.

Is this suicide a moral plan?

What do you think the meaning of life is?
I think its to understand mortality and to somehow spit in its face regardless of fear.
