I know that China was occupied a couple of time by northern invaders but with a history spanning over 2,000 years that does not mean that it was not *generally* effective. For example, many other invasion attempts might have been successfully thwarted with the aid of the Wall. Or maybe it was good at keeping out petty raiders and brigands who would otherwise perform hit and run attacks. Anybody know?

Its been three years since The Big blackout, and I was NOT prepared. Bank machines down we had no way to add to what little we had and we were not alone. We emptied our freezer and had a big barbque inviting most of our neighbors kids for a meal of hamburgers and and what ever else was defrosting. For a few days we were equal, equally without. No batteries,no bottled water,no news,no fresh food, no power. I swore we would be better prepared next time. Did you find your self in the same boat or did you think ahead and have a few more comforts? How would you do it differently? This question is concerns any disaster not just blackouts. The connection Emergency preparedness

The flower Lotus is regarded with divinity and grace. Often, the Hindu Goddesses Lakshmi and Saraswathi are associated with the flower lotus. Even Lord Shiva, who wanted to escape the wrath of the Lord Saneeswaran, morphed himself into the shape of a bee and took asylum inside a lotus. Buddhists regard this flower as a sacred one

The term has been used to refer to different situations. There are no correct answers. Let's see how many different connotations we can get here for the"seven sisters." Please not to include other numbers such as "four sisters" or "three sisters."
