i was talking to my friend about 2 days ago & he said hey whats up, & it got me thinking who ever thought of whats up? but if anybody knows or something. Can i know, because i'm starting to getting really curious.

Was a big saying back in the umm late 70's. I think on TV show Whats happening or something like that.

This is an abbreviation of "What are you up to?" Over the years, it became the present "Waht's up" or as teenagers in my part of the world would "Wassup"
