I've asked on THIS site before, and everyone said it was a boy's name. Could I get away with naming a female character that name? Maybe since it's so far in the future it would be believable? Or should I stick with a name accepted by all as feminine?
I really, really like the name Sage, and it's meaning is Prophet- perfect for the name of the girl who is going to predict the downfall of her city.
What do you think?

I've had this idea for a book of poetry. I'm going to put together an asortment of poetry written by Yahoo! users. it would be formatted something like this:

Title

...
...
(poem)
...
...

Author's Yahoo ID (not using real names for security perposes, plus it makes it more interesting)

If you have any poems that are too long to fit on here, or that you don't want to be made public (yet) email them to me at

dinnydorf@yahoo.com

If you have already replied to one of my other questions of this sort, you don't have to reply to this one

Give me your poems, your sonnets,
Your mad bunches of words yearning to be read,
The unheard jibberish of your teeming mind.
Send these, the unknown, the paper-strewn pages, to me:
I lift my pen beside the open book.

(my poem:)

Here I am,

Rattling on the bus this morning,

The sun rising beyond the trees

Upon a glistening world of purity

Adorned with last night's fresh snow

In beautiful silence.

I touch my face to my book for a moment

And smile.

How can I then return in happy plight
That am debarred the benefit of rest ?

When day’s oppression is not eas’d by night,
But day by night and night by day oppress’d.

And each (though enemies to either’s reign)
Do in consent shake hands to torture me,
The one by toil, the other to complain
How far I toil, still farther off from thee.

I tell the Day to please him thou art bright,
And dost him grace when clouds do blot the heaven:
So flatter I the swart-complexion’d night,
When sparkling stars twire not thou gild’st th’ even.

But day doth daily draw my sorrows longer,
And night doth nightly make grief’s length seem stronger

PLEASE WRITE YOUR EXPLAINATION IN UNDERSTANDABLE AND READABLE LANGUAGE. PLEASE ALSO SAY EXACTLY WHAT THEY MMEAN BE CLEAR AND CONCISE PLEASE. THANK YOU.

I was just writing to a friend and, as I recall it, there's like 7 basic (cliche) plotlines used in most romance novels such as "the poor but beautiful governess falls in love with the grouchy but actually wonderful master of the house." (Used in Jane Eyre and countless Harlequin romance novels.) Can you name any?

after Simon's brutal murder by the boys (who thot simon was the beast) ironically the "dead body on the hill" --the beast--parachutist guy-- appears and drifts away into the sea. WHAT is the signifcance of this happening at the same moment simon died. How is the timing ot this both ironic and tragic??

I saw a book in a magazine on the 'recommended read' section and I can't find the book anywhere, even on the internet! So I just wanted to know if anyone had heard of or seen it.

It's called 'The Rough Guide to Getting the Most out of Your Twenties' by Lucie Cave and Catherine Hood.

Thanks!
