Hello. I wanted to know if any of you knew of short story writing contests for high school students in America, and where you can sign up for one. Also if it is limited to certain states. Thank-you.

There's a site called www.ourecho.com. You can post stories (and poems) there at any time. Once a month they have a contest and one writer wins $100. I don't think there is an age restriction on it.

Either get a Writer's Digest or if they have a website like writersdigest.com check them out. They always have places at the back of the magazine that has contests for all sorts of writing. Short stories and poetry.

well not much of a contest however, if you are seriously interested in short story writting, then I suggest you look at longridge writters course. It costs a chunk of change, but is well worth it.
