I've been shown some photos that seem to be distorted in such a way that there's an unnatural curve either going through the middle of the pic, or else a sort of "bending" effect. The photographer claims that this is natural -- happened when the picture was snapped, and was not digitally manipulated. Any thoughts?

If the Titanic it made it to New York without ever hitting the iceberg, what impact do you think its passengars would have had on history? In other words what would be different because some of these people were heirs to family fortunes etc. Also the poor immigrants what impact would there be?How much will history change?

If you can describe a phenomenon by ALL the ways in which it is useful for us, is there anything more that an 'intellectual' explanation can give us?

If so, how is that not just more practical knowledge?

Trying a different area, hoping for better results. I'm in an online college class for creative writing and we are working on a terminology study guide. Not a single one is in the book! Some I know, from being such an avid reader, but others are foreign. Does anyone know of a knowledgable online source to use? They are compound phrases, so my dictionary hasn't been much help!

We have a lengthy quiz tomorrow, so I need to figure this out.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

USA spent enormous sums on "keeping China in the war" even though the Chinese were hardly fighting the Japanese at all. At great expense, America sent the Chinese large amounts of armaments, which fell into Communist hands in 1949.
Britain insisted on invading Italy in 1943 and committed the Allies to a long war of attrition.
Which was more harmful to the Allied cause? What can be said in the favour of either?
If the effort would have been better made elsewhere, where?

I am currently working on a 'short' story and would like feedback/comments from nonbiased reviewers. I've had a few friends read over it, and a professor of mine, but I would really like more constructive responses, rather than the 'that's nice' or 'I really love it.'

I'd like to know where to go with the story, and how to expand it into a novel length, but keeping with the framework of the plot.

Thank you so much for any advice, I appreciate it!
