Scylla and Charybdis

Be there any more dismal abyss,
Than that of the monstrous Charybdis?
Have there been some lucky to escape

What horrid and more fantastic beast

Hi, I am haven a problem maken dinners. My b/f and I just moved out on our own. We both know how to cook. Our hours at work though suck. But when we go to the market we just dont know what to get. When we are at home we have food its just we have a like a um well duh moment its like do u want to go out to eat lol. I would just like to stay home and make dinner for the both of us for a change. We make dinner its just not well what I want. Its always steak and mash potatoes and a veggie. Or spaghetti. I would just like to make different meals and have a nice dinner. Can someone help me please lol.

Politics and emotions aside please ...

Just base on their look, the way they carry themselves etc, who will you choose to be is the third, second, first runner-up and the CHAMP?

My view is:
3rd - Mr. G Brown,
not so handsome, not so stylish, look like the uncle I meet on the street who is not very friendly.

2nd - Mr. Clinton
most handsome, stylish, kiddy look but act matured, always smiles but looks very fake to me.

1st - Mr. Tony B
handsome, most gentleman, very matured look but abit too serious i.e. like not so friendly.

CHAMP - Mr GW Bush
ok ok handsome, stylish, always smiles, matured look but cute, funny and very friendly.
He is like a young chap behind a matured face.

What about you?

Hi,
I am moving from Europe to Dallas soon, and I was wondering what would be better to rent a furnished or unfurnished home. We are taking about a 3/4 bedrooms house for my husband, our baby and myself. Do you know if there are good furnished houses for rent or should we go for unfurnished and bring all our furniture over?

I just don't get it. This whole global warming debate has been going on and on and no matter what, nothing we can do can keep the sun from getting hotter. So why do we keep fighting with the other nations and people to 'go green'? Sure, going green is great and has no major downside, but continuing to put blame on other people for global warming is getting us no where.

Al Gore is such a hypocrit, too. He blames us for wasting resources when he's the one with the huge mansion using 80 times more natural gas than the average american.

So why do we continue to blame humans? Why do we continue to believe that we have caused the earth to rise in temperature? In the 70's, when CO2 levels were higher in the atmosphere than they are now, the temperatures were declining, almost showing signs that we could fall into another small ice age like in the 1700s.

I think its time for us to move on from this debate. Just ask Mars, even their ice cap is shrinking each year :( poor Mars.

How can i make edible metal.

Its for an art project, i want to make a long pole of technology that i will slowly eat. It doesnt matter how it tastes but it needs to be quite realistic. Any ideas?

I was trying to reconcile with my spouse, after a three year seperation in which we have been together several times. Each time I found out he was with other woman at the same time, his excuse, "if he had a wife he wouldn't be with any other woman" " I put him in this spot" recently I have been seeing him, spending the night and I found out he is seeing someone else, I went the house they were in bed together. A mistake, I ended up forgiving him, spent time with him, I went up to the house last week and he wouldn't let me in, he was going to take a shower, other excuses. I knew he had that woman in there.last weekend I went to the bar where she worked, had a talk with her, I told he was lying to both of us. She admitted being there that day, & on several others, he comes & picks her up, she recieved a dozen roses on her birthday, a card, dinner with my husband. She came to the house 10/16 & we both faced him. he yelled for us to get out of his house. He called me ugly names.

I AM NOT RACIST, I just have an observation...

I just finished flipping through a 199 page catalog. I don't want to name the store, but it was a national department store located in every state. While looking through the catalog, I noticed that almost all the models were white, male and female. I saw 1 black male and about 3 black women, that looked white. By "looking white", I mean that they were of the lightest shade with long flowing hair, thin nose, and other Caucaian features.

It is just a question, but why don't you think this catalog included any dark-skinned models? I know I' not the only that has noticed this. I very closely resemble my avatar, and I love my color, but it bothers me that when we view tv, magazines, etc. that are mainly geared toward a white audience, the only "token" still looks white.

I'm not making this up. Why?
