I am currently residing in Germany. I work in an orphanage in VietNam, Kontum (Vinh Son 1 and 2). I know that to adopt to Italy, USA and France is common enough. A few years back VietNam changed certain political policies that accidentally made it illegal to adopt a child into Germany. There has been talk about this avenue re-opening. Are there any sites or people I can talk to (English) that may help me find out if it is now possible?


The adoption is not for me, I am Australian. It is for a German couple who help me and others to financially support the orphanage.

i will be travelling through Vietnam from HCM City to Hanoi and from Hanoi to Nanning to Guangzhou to Hong Kong in China during the Chinese New Year festival 2007. I am a US citizen and I've been to a few sites including the Vietnam embassy website and I'm still unclear about how much I pay, how long it takes and I find it weird that they want me to send my actual passport to get my visa. Is there somewhere that accepts a photo copy of my passport... It's taken me 3 months to get it I dont want to lose it now... thanks for you help folks...

so where do i go to find her in vietnam,i think she was born in saigon or near there. i have pics of her mom and baby.my dad told me on his death bed,of half sister there.dont have money to hire someone like P.I..dont have names of the mom or the baby.i think half sister might be in late 30s or early 40s.so im wondering if there name of my dad at a hospital where she was born or if she has my last name .so where do i goto look up names at hospitals online in vietnam so anyone can help.

I am cycling 500km from Saigon to Angkor Temples, the first night is in a hotel in District 1, I love live music, food an drink but also need to be fit in the morning to start the cycle!! Any experience that will leave a true impression of the city on me is what I would like.

Leaving Saigon 21st Dec, have 9 nights to get to Danang. Have booked 2 nights in Phan Thiet, 1st stop. Then I am stumped. Don't know if it is worth visiting Dalat or just going straight to Nha Trang. Then on to Danang, or maybe on to Hue and then back to Danang. Is it possible to get a flight from Danang to Siem Reap We have to be in Siem Reap on the 30th Dec. Any help with distances between places, traveling time etc greatfully accepted. Also would we hire a driver and car in Saigon to take us all the way to Hue or hire a different driver at each stop.
